The course is designed for non-accounting students/ employees fundamental to develop their knowledge and skills in the discipline of Accounting and Finance, particularly in the ability of interpreting financial statements of a company.Upon completion of this course, students will appreciate the Framework of Accounting, Source of Finance, application of Budgeting, Investment Appraisal, Application of Costing Techniques as well as Financial Statement Analysis.The objectives of financial reporting are:

  1. Define revenue, expenses, assets and liabilities under the conceptual framework and
  2. Understanding a firm’s basic financial statements
  3. The importance, usage and application of the following financial reporting tools:
    - Balance Sheet
    - Income Statement
    - Cash Flow Statement
  4. Understanding the purpose and the usage of financial reports
  5. Application of costs for decision making

Preparation of cash budget and using it to evaluate the amount and timing of anorganization’s financial needs.
Explain the use of cost-benefit techniques to assess the monetary value of cost and profits

The course is designed to train and develop incumbents/employee’s management knowledge in workplace so as to empower their abilities and skills in handling management issues and be able to be more efficient and effective in overcoming difficulties a MANAGER from time to time may encounter. The course contains inter-personal skill, negotiation skill, public relation skill, law for management and so on. It is English with appropriate Chinese explanations.

AMEC invite Mr. Kelly Lam, KHATTAK be our program director for certificate in management abilities & skills. He is proficient in Cantonese, English, Japanese and Mandarin. Mr. Khattak has a degree in Master of China Law and Bachelor of Law and Language from universities in Hong Kong and England. He is an author of books and novels in different languages. His previous novel ‘Twilight Zone’ and his latest non-fiction ‘Legal Traps in Hong Kong have been commented on having strong ‘feel’ and a strong ‘touch of the movies. He has been a very Senior Executive with international corporations. He was the vice-president of Jumpin Gym U.S.A. Ltd. and a Consultant of the of FUJI T.V. Network Corporation and he has been in charge of over 100 million dollar property investment in Lipp Centre, Admiralty for Japanese client. Besides, Mr. Khattak is a guest star and Co-host of ATV programs “Afternoon Tea” and “Weekend Courtroom”.
